Compressor oils (also: compressor oils) from FRAGOL, classified according to DIN 51506:2017-08 VDL, are used to lubricate moving parts in the compressor, to dissipate heat and, depending on the chemical composition, to withstand the influence of abrasive media such as biogases, ammonia or sulphur gases.
FRAGOL compressor oils are characterised by high ageing resistance, high corrosion protection and a good affinity for evenly absorbing and dissipating heat.
Selection criteria for compressor oils are:
- Design of the compressor/compressor
- Highest or lowest ambient and operating temperatures
- Viscosity requirements
- Composition of the gas to be compressed
- Compatibility of the oil with the gas
- Required detergent and dispersant properties
- Special operating conditions such as humid atmospheres or extreme temperatures
- Special requirements such as H1 registration (compressor oils for food industry)
FRAGOL compressor oils can be used for virtually all applications. In the case of larger fills, regular inspections of the used oil are possible in order to exploit the optimum service life of the oil.
Once the system parameters have been determined, the lubrication engineer (or tribologist) can select the lubricant that will optimise the performance of the application from a range of lubricant compositions. Since each chemical composition has its own advantages and disadvantages, selecting the correct composition is critical to meeting the tribological system parameters.
