H1 gear oils from FRAGOL are used in many areas of the food industry where moving parts are driven and moved by chains, Bowden cables, steel cables or other conveyor systems.
Unlike purely industrial gear oils, these lubricants are rarely used in fast-rotating gears or hoists with high loads. Here, adhesion, wettability and high temperature absorption by ovens (e.g. in baking lines) play a more important role.
FRAGOL H1 gear oils are manufactured according to the specifications of ISO 21469:2006. All H1 gear oils fulfil the requirements of FDA 21 CFR 178.3570 and are either 2Probity and/or NSF H1 registered. FRAGOL H1 gear oils are used where incidental, technically unavoidable contact with food may occur. They contain no animal or genetically modified ingredients, are free from allergens and are Kosher and Halal certified.
White oils play a subordinate role in their formulation - instead, polyalphaolefins and polyglycols are used due to their good temperature properties and their behaviour towards water and water vapour.
Use and areas of application:
- Machinery and equipment: FRAGOL H1 gear oils are used in various machines used in food processing, such as drive units, conveyor towers, centrifuges and conveyor belts.
- Food safety: These oils are formulated to meet the requirements of the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) and other relevant standards to ensure food safety.
- Temperature resistance: FRAGOL H1 gear oils are designed to remain stable even at extreme temperatures and water ingress, which is often required in food production.
