By definition, grease is an oil that is prevented from flowing. Base oils and additives are made into a sponge-like structure with the help of so-called thickeners and provide all the chemical and physical possibilities of lubricants.
FRAGOL lubricating greases perform tasks such as sealing bearings and aggregates, achieve unsurpassed load-carrying properties due to their structure and, thanks to their high temperature stability, can be used in applications where conventional lubricating oils no longer provide lubrication due to their viscosity behaviour.
Selection criteria for greased parts are:
- Operation in outdoor or indoor systems
- Viscosity performance at low and high temperatures
- Reduced friction and wear
- Chemical stability and elastomer resistance
- Special requirements such as H1 registration (greased parts for food industry)
FRAGOL greases can be used to optimise virtually any application.
After determining the system parameters, the lubrication engineer (or tribologist) can use different lubricant compositions to select a lubricant that will optimise the performance of the application. As each chemical composition has its own advantages and disadvantages, the selection of the correct composition is critical to achieving the tribological system parameters.
